Time differences

New Zealand is one of the first countries west of the International Date Line.  However, being amongst the first to greet the new day can lead to problems when last day instructions are sent assuming it is the same date in New Zealand.  Similar problems can also arise in Australia since IP Australia works to Australian Eastern Standard Time in Canberra, which is only 2 hours after New Zealand Standard Time.

While we encourage the receipt of instructions well before deadlines, sometimes decisions need to be deferred to near the critical date.  With this in mind we encourage associates to familiarize themselves with the relative times in their country and in New Zealand and Australia.   A useful website in this regard is www.timeanddate.com, which has many time related applications.  A summary of current times throughout the world, including whether or not daylight savings time is in effect, can be found here.
