Hector Cumming is head of PIPERS Trademark department and is based in Auckland, New Zealand.

Hector Cumming was born and educated in New Zealand, has a Masters Degree in chemistry (x-ray crystallography) and has published a paper on clathrate structures. He has been active in the patent field since 1978 in Australia, working with Davies & Collison in Melbourne and later as a partner with Arthur S Cave & Co., in Sydney when the two firms merged to become Davies Collison Cave in 1991. In 1994 he returned to New Zealand and presently works with Pipers in Auckland.

Hector is a member of NZIPA, APAA and AIPPI. Hector is an active member of INTA and a regular attendee at their conferences.
